Wishcasting Wednesdays

Every so often, I join in with Jamie at http://www.jamieridlerstudios.ca for Wishcasting Wednesday.  This helps me to focus on where I want my life to go and what dreams, goals, and passions I have.  This week Jamie asks: "What do you wish to work on?".

I could answer this in so many ways.  The way I am going to answer this week is: I want to work on making time to do the things I love to do!

I want to try to continue to get more organized to be able to have more free time to do the things I love to do.   I want to feel free to go fun places with my kids.  I want to budget my money better so that I have money to do things with the kids.  I want to make time to work on the different creative things that I want to do; sew, embroider, knit, paper crafts, jewelry, learning new crafts, etc.  I want to work on making time to spend more special time with my husband like having a date night more often (hopefully the warmer weather will help with what to do).  I want to work on making things to sell.  I want to work on getting healthy and staying healthy.  I have a herniated disc that pretty much makes me not want to do anything for the last couple of months. I miss running, even though I never really ran a lot.  Now that I can't run, it's all I want to do.  I'm hoping that after my back gets better, I can work on my running and get to enjoy it again like I was before I stopped!

I guess there are a lot of things that I want to work on, but unless I work on making more time and getting organized, none of it will happen.

I just read a couple of fellow wishcasting posts and it reminded me of another goal that I guess I should put down in writing.  I want to work on utilizing my love of creativity in my social work profession and  I want to work on figuring out how to have a brick and mortar studio and gallery for my community.  I want to have a gallery that people can show off what they create and not worry about it being good enough; the fact that they created it makes it good enough!

What do you wish to work on?

Wishcasting Wednesday

"What Do You Wish To Do One Day?", ask Jamie at http://jamieridlerstudios.ca.  Such a good question and so many answers.  One thing I know I wish to do, travel cross country with my children and my husband.  I did this with my husband about 10 years ago and loved every second and can't wait to do it again but with better planning to make sure I get to experience all that I want to.

Another answer would be to have a career in something I love.  This is one area that is going to be difficult!  Mainly it's going to be difficult because I need to future out what it is that I truly want to do with my career.  I have thoughts about going back to school for art therapy, natural health, aromatherapy, herbs, or for nutrition training. I have crazy thoughts about opening my own studio with a healthy cafe and shoppe.  I think about doing more with flowers and gardening.  Then I think about just being a social worker.  I know that I will be going back to work sooner than I expect.  My twins will be in school within the next couple of years, and at that time, I hope that I can actually get back into the work force and love what I do.  I am trying to use this time that I am not working to figure out what I want to do with my life and hope that answering questions like this will help guide me to my love and passion!

Wishcasting Wednesday

It's Wednesday once again and once again I am joining in with with Jamie riddler at http://jamieridlerstudios.ca where she asks; "What do you wish to learn?"

This is an both easy and a difficult question to answer.  My broad answer is any and all creative thing I can learn.  I want to learn more about holistic health, aromatherapy, herbs, bath and body products, as well as more crafting creative ideas.  I currently am looking to learn about batik dying so that I can dye my own fabric to use in my sewing projects.  I want to learn to dye my own yarn.  I want to learn more about art and crafting as a therapeutic tool (for my professional career), I want to learn more about all the creative things that I already know and  do.    I could go on and on.  The reason that this question is difficult to answer is that there are so many specific things that I want to learn.  I guess, on some level, the most important thing for me to learn will be how to use art and crafting as a creative tool so that I can use it in my professional career.

As an aside, I am officially the chapter leader for Massachusetts for "Enchanted Makeovers".  I am the go to person for MA for people who want to donate dolls, pillowcases, and/or capes for children who are living in shelters.  This is my first way of introducing creativity and community involvement into my life.  Hopefully in time, I will be able to do more of this and branch out on my own with community involvement and crafting. Over the next couple of weeks, I will be posting more about Enchanted Makeovers and what I will be doing in the state of Massachusetts!

I recently went to an art therapy conference and it definitely made me want to do more with the arts and crafts with my social work practice!

Wishcasting Wednesday: What Do You Wish to Share

It's again Wednesday and I remembered to join in with Wishcasting Wednesday at http://www.jamieridlerstudios.ca.  This week we are asked "What Do You Wish To Share?"

For a long time now, I have been looking for a way to share my love of creating and my love of my career as a social worker.  I have tried to find a way to get continuing ed credits by taking conferences that are more creative driven vs. clinically driven.  They all have a clinical component, but they also have a creative component too.  I have taken an art therapy workshop, a journaling workshop, a yoga worksop, and next I am taking an art therapy for grief and loss next month.

After reading a couple of books, specifically "Craft Hope", I have been trying to find a way to craft for charity.  I figured this would be a decent way to combine some community work (social work) and crafting (creating).  I've been trying to find a way to go about doing it.  I was hoping to start in my own community, but didn't know where to start.  I was reading Facebook and saw a post about "Enchanted Makeovers" looking for dolls.  I still have to create some and send them off, but I looked at the website and noticed that they have national chapters and my state is not listed.  They are looking to have a chapter in more states, so I contacted Terry Grahl, the founder of "Enchanted Makeovers" and have a phone conference on Monday to talk about heading up a chapter in MA.  I am a little nervous about this phone call.  I haven't told my husband about it.  I have sent e-mails to over chapter leaders hoping to get some inside info on what being a Chapter leader entails.  I figured that this may be a good way to start to share my love of community (social work) and my love of creating.  It would be an established program and I guess I would just be a liaison to the company for local people who have questions or donations for area shelters.  I wish it was a paid position!  I would love to have something like this as my job.  I do think that this will be a great addition to my resume for when I have the ability to start my own type of program.

I don't want to be the person that has dream that never get fulfilled.  I don't want to look back on my life and say "I wish I had followed my dreams and passions".  I do like being a social worker, but I don't just want to do clinical work without creativity.  I want to share my love of creativity with others as well as my love of social work, but more the community work of social work, not individual clinical work.  I want to help my community by sharing my talents and gifts, both as a social worker and as a crafter!

What do you wish to share?

Wednesday

It's Wednesday again, and even though I haven't been playing every week, I thought I'd join in again with "Wishcasting Wednesday".

This week Jamie asks, "What belongings do you wish for?"

I hate being materialistic, but I figure it can't hurt it I wish for something helpful.  So here I go!

1.) I wish for a larger house.  Nothing too big, but just big enough for my 3 kids, me and my husband.  I would love it to be big enough to have a kitchen, living room, dining room, playroom for the kids, 4 bedrooms, a craft room for me, and a woodshop for my husband.  I would love to have a bathroom for the kids and for me and my husband (thinking on the second floor), and one for everyday use (on the first floor).  This sounds huge since right now our house is 3 bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen with a semi finished basement and 2 bathrooms.  I don't need huge rooms, just big enough to be comfortable in.

2.) I would love a new wardrobe!  I would love to have nice, good quality items that I can mix and match with fun trendy pieces.  I don't want too much, but enough so that I am stylish and trendy without being crazy.  I want enough classic pieces that as styles change, I can switch out some of the more trendy pieces so that I can remain in style.

3.) To go along with number 1, I want some fun items to fill my new house.  I would love fin furniture and storage to help me maintain being organized, yet make my house look very stylish.  I guess when I thin about my style, it is probably very eclectic ( as I am with almost every area of my life).

4.) Again to go along with number 1, I want the outside to match the inside.  I want to have both fun and useful gardens.  I want to have fun things for my kids.  I want to have a fun, relaxing outdoor environment to relax with family and friends.

5.) I would also love new craft supplies of any kind at anytime I wanted them.  I would love a new DSLR camera, as well as a new macbook.

6.) I would love to have a place (outside my home) to create with others and by myself.  I would maybe even  love a store/studio to have a new career.

I know I could go into more details, but I don't have the time to detail all of this.  This is a basic outline of the belongings that I wish I had.

Even though I wish I had all of these things, I am so thankful that I have what I have.  I have a great husband, 3 great kids, great family (both mine and my in-laws), friends, a house with a large yard for the kids, transportation, and food.  I really shouldn't ask for more, but this was fun to think about!

Wishcasting Wednesday: "What Do You Wish To Rise Above?"

It's Wednesday once again and once again, Jamie Ridler at http://www.jamieridlerstudios.ca asks, "What Do You Wish To Rise Above?"

I thought about this and read other's posts, all of whom wrote great posts on this topic, and decided that I wish to rise above my insecurities!  When I think about all the different things that are going on in my life, have gone on in my life, and will be going on in my life, I think about how i am often held back by my insecurities, my fear of failure.  If there is one thing that I really need to work on, it's my insecurities.  I know I don't think I'm good enough at a lot of different things and am only ok at somethings.  I need to give myself permission to fail.  Without some failure, you don't learn.  Failure doesn't have to be bad/negative!

I also think that my insecurities fuel some of my other issues.  I can be really judgmental of others, especially if I have found myself in a similar situation.  I need to let it go and have a little more empathy (which is really important since my career is in social work and empathy is huge).  I need to let go of my past failures and not let the green eyed monster get me!  I need to let go of my fear of being wrong and trust my instincts, for example having my older son tested for developmental delays.  I am finally getting him tested and I am ok with what ever outcome we get.  Of course, this would be one area that I would be happy to be wrong, but I don't want people to think that I am one of those mothers that always thinks that there is something wrong.

My insecurities can certainly hold me back.  I am hopeful that if I can let go of my insecurities, I can maybe find more friends, trust myself, and be a little happier (especially given how great my life is).  I am very thankful for my husband, my kids, my house, the fact that I can stay at home with my kids and be there for them.  I have to remember to be aware of all the good things that I have and let go of those insecurities!

Wishcasting Wednesday: What Do You Wish For Your Future?

It's Wednesday once again and I am joining in with Jamie at http://www.jamieridlerstudios.ca.  This week Jamie asks: "Wishcasting Wednesday: What Do You Wish For Your Future?"

This is kind of an easy answer for me.  I wish to be doing what I love.  Right now I am a stay at home mom.  I love it, but in a few short years I need to return to work.  Right before I got pregnant with my oldest son, I had just graduated from grad school and got married.  Now, almost 5 years later, I am trying to figure out what I want to do with my life.  I love being a social worker, but I don't want to be a traditional social worker.  I want to use my experience and my education to do something a little less traditional.  I have lots of thoughts, but I can't seem to figure out exactly what would make me the happiest.  I wish that over the next few years, I can figure out my career, how to fit it into my family life, and how to make sure that me and my family are living a happy healthy life and how I can make sure that I am following my dreams and being true to myself and my beliefs!

For my future; I wish that I can live a life that is true to me and my beliefs and makes me and my family happy!

What do you wish for the future?

Wishcasting Wednesday: What is Your Spirit Wishing For?

It's Wednesday once again and once again I am joining in with Jamie at http://www.jamieridlerstudios.ca for wish casting Wednesday.  This week Jamie asks: "What is Your Spirit Wishing For?"

The simple answer is follow through.  I set all these goals and a lot of times, I seem to only maintain the goal or even working towards the goal for a short time.  I think my spirit needs me to set attainable goals, give myself credit for what I do accomplish, and to follow through with the goals that I set for myself.  I think, for me, by not following through, I am not being true to myself.  I also think that I don't follow through due to fear.  Unfortunately, there are probably a lot of things that my spirit is wishing for, but I think right now, follow through is a good wish to have.

What is your spirit wishing for?

Wishcasting Wednesday: How do you wish to spend your time? (a day late)

It's Wednesday again and that means it's time for Wishcasting Wednesday.  This week we are asked:

"How do you wish to spend your time?"

A simple answer to this question is: "I wish to spend my time following through with the goals that I set of myself at the beginning of the year".
  1.  I wish to make time to get myself healthy.  By this, I mean exercise and eating right.  I have started walking/running every other day and am starting to feel pretty good.  I still have a long way to go, but I no longer ache after I finish my exercise.  I would love to add yoga and/or meditation to my routine.  As far as eating healthy, I still have a way to go.  I am doing well with drinking my green smoothies in the morning, but I am still having trouble throughout the day.  This is something I will continue to work on.  I am also trying to remember to drink my water kefir instead of soda.
  2. I want to make time to get my life organized.  Again this is something that I am am working on.  I have started going through my craft supplies and am starting to purge somethings.  After purging, I have started to get an organization system.  I also want to get more organized so that I can have a cleaner house.
  3. I want to make time to be creative.  I have been crocheting and trying to get my unfinished projects completed.  I am trying to use up the supplies I have instead of buying new and adding to the lack of room that I already have.
  4. I wish to spend time learning about new things.  I want to learn more about essential oils, gardening, and herbs as well as getting better with the creative things that I like to do.  I want to learn more about growing herbs and using them.  I want to learn more about using essential oils for me and my family.  I want to learn more about how to have a good healthy garden so that I can use that to feed my family instead of relying on the store.  I'm sure that there is more that I want to learn, but that is what I can think of now.
  5. I wish to spend more quality time with my kids.  I am looking to spend some time homeschooling my twins for their first preschool year.  It is so expensive to send 2 kids to preschool for 2 years.  I think it will be good for them to go for 1 year, but I don't know that 2 is necessary.  I also want to spend more time encouraging them to be creative and not really worrying about the mess that they make.  I also want to make sure that I spend quality time with my husband!
For now this is where I wish to spend my time.  How do you wish to spend your time?

Wishcasting Wednesday:Wishcasting Wednesday: What do you wish people knew about you?

It's time once again for  Wishcasting Wednesday.  This week Jamie asks:

Wishcasting Wednesday: What do you wish people knew about you?

I wish people knew just how terrified I can get in new situations and in group settings.  I wish people knew how much I fear what others think of me.  I wish people knew how afraid I am that once they get to know me, they won't like me.  I wish people knew how fearful I am of not doing things good enough, which ultimately means that I expect to do everything perfectly the first time I do it.  I wish people knew how afraid of failure I am.  I'm not sure anyone, even my husband realizes how I feel.

I have to admit that all of this fear has gotten better the older I've gotten.  I am starting to be ok with who I am, but I still am leery of interacting in group situations and I am definitely leery of trying new things and putting myself out there, but at least now I actually attempt to interact in group situations and try new things.  I absolutely prefer one on one situations.  I have always loved having one best friend and pretty much spending all my time with them.  I am not someone who enjoys large parties or groups.  Even if I attend a large party or am in a large and even not so large group situation, I tend to spend my time interacting with one maybe two people.

Hopefully, this is something that I will be able to overcome.  At least I am aware of this and can work on it.

Wishcasting Wednesday:Who do you wish to make peace with?

It's once again Wednesday and I as usual am looking forward to joining in with Jamie Ridler at http://www.jamieridlerstudios.ca for wish casting Wednesday.  This week Jamie asks "Who do you wish to make peace with?"

I initially thought I should make peace with my brother in law.  He has been living in my house for 8 months and has not really helped out at all.  He has really only thought about himself and really pretty put down anyone who disagrees with him, oh and he hasn't had a job and really hasn't looked for a job.  And there is so much more that I could complain about, but who I really want to make peace with is me.

I really need to make peace with who I am.  I am always comparing myself with others sometimes appropriately, and sometimes not appropriately.  I am always comparing my physical self, how pretty I am or not, how skinny I am or not, how in shape I am or not.  I am always comparing myself as a parent too.  Then I start getting really negative.  It can sometimes affect my marriage/relationship as we have been together for 18 years.  I have some better days and some not so good days.

I wish to be happy with who I am and how I parent and stop comparing myself to others.  I wish to be at peace with who I am and be satisfied that my husband is happy and not looking for me to change (I know he is not.  I know that fear is all from my mind).  I need to be happy with my parenting skills and realize that having 3 kids who at one time were all under one year of age was not an easy situation and I did the best I could and my kids are great kids.  I need to stop questioning if I caused their speech delay or their inability to share or their temper tantrums.

I need to make peace with me!

Wishcasting Wednesday:What do you wish to remember?

There are so many things that I could write about, especially after reading so many people's posts.  Things from my childhood, that my sisters can remember (Sometimes I have absolutely no memory), day to day things, not to get all worked up over nothing, to let things go, etc.  I could go on and on, but what I really wish to remember is a dream I had one night.  I'm not sure if it was the feeling while I was in the dream, the path that I took there, where I need up, but I keep thinking of that dream?  Even last night while I was going to sleep, I tried to remember the dream and this dream happened quite a while ago!  There is something that makes me want to remember, but there is so little that I remember, I can't even remember why I want to remember the dream!

As simple as this sounds, I really want to remember that dream!

Wishcasting Wednesday: Who do you wish to have tea with?

It's Wednesday once again, and once again I am going in with Wishcasting Wednesday over at jamieridlersturdios.ca.  this week Jamie asks "Who do you wish to have tea with?"

I contemplated skipping this week, but the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to join in.  I read other people's post about who they ward to have tea with.  Some had some amazingly famous people and some had some amazing important people in their lives i.e., their significant other and even themselves.  It really made me think about who I would like to have tea with.

I could come up with some amazingly famous people, but as awesome as that would be, I think I would love to sit and enjoy a simple cup of tea with just my husband.  With 3 little kids, 3 1/2 and under, it can be difficult to find time for just us.  I would love to make it a huge deal and have a nice quiet, romantic time, where it is just the two of us, where we are not too tired to enjoy each others company, where we can just enjoy being together.

My husband and I are tea drinkers.  For my birthday last year, I got an amazing cast iron tea set with dragon flies on it.  It was really expensive and really nice quality.  That being said, I don't use it nearly enough!  I wish to get away from drinking the coffee that I stupidly started again and start really enjoying my tea.  I wish to make time to use my tea set and enjoy a nice simple yet perfect cup of tea with one of the most important people in my life (the most important other than my children), my husband!

My tea set that I need to start using more often!

Wishcasting Wednesday: How Do You Wish To Nourish Yourself?

It's Wednesday once again and time for Wishcasting Wednesday!  This week, Jamie at http://www.jamieridlerstudios.ca, asks:

"How Do You Wish To Nourish Yourself?"

I love Wednesday's and so look forward to the promts.  Every week, each question becomes something that is really important for me to ask myself.  This week, I can answer very literally and also from a more spiritual way.  I literally, want to nourish myself with foods that make me feel good and that are healthy for me.  After Halloween and also just in general, I tend to eat foods that taste good, but that don't have much value to it.  I know what and how I need to eat, I just need to do it!

From a spiritual perspective, I need to nourish myself by relaxing and doing things that I enjoy, but actually make sure that I take the time to enjoy the moment.  I love to be creative, but sometimes, I tend to not give myself enough time and then being creative become a chore and a hassle.  For example, I want to make a lot of Christmas gifts.  I know that I want to make things, but I need to make sure that I leave enough time and not try to do too much with the time that I have.  Being creative is no longer nourishing when I am stressed about the outcome.  I have joined in with creative everyday.com for creative every day month.  I am hoping that the month of November will be enjoyable for me to create, since I will hopefully do a little every day instead of trying to get it all down at once.  Creative every day month started yesterday, but I have been sick so I haven't started yet.  I am hoping to get to do something creative when the kids are in for their naps.

I wish to nourish my body by eating what is good for me and actually enjoy it, and I wish to nourish my soul by being creative without stressing about the outcome!

Wishcasting Wednesday: What Do You Wish To Let Go Of?

It's Wednesday again and I am once again joining in with Jamie Ridler at http://www.jamieridlerstudios.ca. This week Jamie asks, "What do you wish to let go of?"

As usual, Jamie's prompts are so timely.  Yesterday, I wrote about my fears and insecurities about starting my own handcrafted gifts business.  I have so many fears and insecurities in life, I just wish I could let go of them and just be secure in myself and in my abilities.

It's kind of funny how some of these wishes all fit together.  For me, last weeks wish about being loved and  this weeks wish about letting go, go together.  I think if I could love myself unconditionally, I could let go of my insecurities and my fears.  On the flip side, if I could let go of fears and insecurities, maybe I could love myself unconditionally.

Maybe, if I let go of my fears and insecurities, I would take more chances in general.  I would talk to people more often and maybe make more friends, rather than just a few acquaintances that I have.

My fears and insecurities have always help me back!  It's time to let go and I guess to quote AA, let God, or what one perceives to be God.

Wishcasting Wednesday: What do you wish to make time for?

This is such a loaded question.  Jamie, over at jamieridlerstudios.ca, asks, "What do you wish to make time for?"

There are so many things that I need to make time for.  I need to make time to pursue my dreams, organize my life, spending time with my husband with no one to interrupt us, getting my chores on track (especially laundry), time for exercise and meditation, creating, etc.  Part of me thinks that there is just not enough time for all the things that I want to do, but then there is another part of me that says I just need to lower my expectations and make time, even if it is just a small amount of time.  Sometimes I think that I expect everything to be perfect and then I don't do anything, because I know it won't be perfect.  Sometimes I think I sabotage myself with my expectations.

I wish to make time for all the things that I want/need out of life, just with lowered expectations.  I also wish to make time to figure out who I really am and what I really want out of life (which is pretty obscure and why I wrote down some of the concrete things that I know I need and want to make time for).

Wishcasting Wednesday: How Do You Wish To Be Loved?

It's Wednesday once again and Jamie over at jamieridlerstudios.ca asks, "How Do You Wish To Be Loved?"

This week's question is actually really difficult for me to write about, which probably means I really need to write about it.  I am extremely lucky with love.  I have a great family, both my own and my in-laws.  We have our ups and downs, just like pretty much everyone, but we are always there for each other.  I have a fabulous husband who absolutely loves me unconditionally and I have 3 beautiful children who also love me unconditionally (even though as I sit here and write, my daughter screams because she is at the point of fighting her naps, but truly needs them!).

How do I wish to be loved?  I wish to love myself unconditionally.  I have a feeling that this is something most people struggle with, but it is something I really need to work on.  What more can I say about this except that I have to try to remember to be good to myself and not be so critical about myself!

I wish to love me!

Amy

I am sure that I could be more descriptive with this post, but I am not sure that i am really ready to write about everything.  I just really need to stop being critical about myself, be happy with who I am, and truly love me!

Wishcasting Wednesday: What do you wish to do one day?

Joining in again for Wishcasting Wednesday!  This week, over at http://www.jamieridlerstudios.ca, Jamie asks "What do you wish to do one day?"

As usual, Jamie asks things that I am usually thinking about.  This weeks question is pretty pertinent in my life right now.  Last Wednesday, I went to work only to find out that I got laid off.  This is the first time anything like this has ever happened to me in the 20 years since I have been out of high school.  I am a social worker and really believed that I was safe from cuts like this.

Even though this was only a part time job, it made a huge difference to my family.  I am trying to think of things in a more positive light!  I am able to get to be home for dinner with my family.  I am able to not have to feel rushed getting things ready for when my husband comes home.  I am able to get unemployment so I can actually have some income coming in to help with our finances!

The other positive thing that I am trying to think about truly relates to this week's prompt.  I am trying  to decide just what it is that I really want to do with my life!  I have a great husband and three great kids, but what do I want to do with my professional life?  How can I use my education in a more out of the box way?  I am thinking that I really do want to do something with art therapy, or even do something less clinical, but still something related to art/creating and how it can be therapeutic.  I've written about this before, and I still think that this is something that I really want to do one day. I would love to be part of a community that truly believes in the mind/body/spirit, not just one area.  I think that my social work career and my love of creating can be mixed to truly help care for ones mind, body and spirit.  I would love to be my own boss one day and again be part of a community that truly looks at the whole person, not just parts of a person!  Oh, and I want to learn to use herbs and aroma therapy as part of my career too!  I think herbs, essential oils and creativity can all work together to help someone have a more balanced life!

What do you wish to do one day?

Wishcasting Wednesday

It's Wednesday once again and once again I am joining in with Jamie over at http://www.jamieridlerstudios.ca where she asks, "What do you wish for fall?"

My wish for fall is to fully enjoy the season.  Fall is my absolute favorite time of year!   I love the weather! What I don't love is the weather that comes after, "WINTER".  With 3 small kids, winter can be a time when I feel extremely forced to stay in the house.  Living in New England, you never know what the weather will bring.  It could be a mild winter, or it could be a horribly cold and snowy and icy winter and my mood is worse when I don't get to enjoy being outside!  I hope that I can focus on pumpkins, apples, crisp cool sunny weather, Halloween and not focus on the coming winter.  Also, as some people have mentioned to me, fall can be thought of as a new year , almost like celebrating New Years in January.  I find the fall weather to be refreshing and renewing so I hope that I can enjoy being creative and following my passions and being true to myself!

Living The Life I Want

This week, I missed out on wishcasting Wednesday.  This week the question was, "What do you wish to immerse yourself in?" As I sit here and type, I am thinking about that question.  Even though I missed writing about my wish on Wednesday, there is no reason why I still can't write about it today!  I love Wishcasting Wednesday, because it makes me sit and really think.  I get a chance to sit and write down my wishes instead of just keeping them to myself.

My answer this week is, "I wish to immerse myself in my passions!".  The question is how do I do that?  I have 3 kids and we have enough money to live, but not enough extra to play with.  The good thing is, that over time, I think my passions may save us money, I just have to find the time to learn.  My passion is what this blog is all about, living a handmade and natural life.  I am starting to cook more instead of going out to eat, I am trying to use the crafting supplies I have instead of buying new, I am trying to make a lot of my own health and beauty products.  I want and need to learn more though!  I want to learn more about aromatherapy, herbs, natural beauty products, gardening, crafting responsibly, cooking good healthy food that tastes good also.

My newest thing I want to learn is soap making.  I need to get a good simple tutorial with a list of the basic supplies I need.  I don't have a ton of extra money to spend, but we are spending a lot on buying good soap so I know in the end it will be worth it.  I also have to stop worrying about making it.  Someone told me that it can be dangerous so I should do it with someone who knows what they are doing.  That has me a little worried, but I am sure that I can do it fine, as long as I take my time and read directions carefully (good directions).  I have been making cream with essential oils, now it is time to move on to bigger and better.  I just need to learn more about waht essesntial oils are good for certain things.  Time to pull out the books!

Any thoughts on good resources for herbs, aromatherapy, etc?
