I have multiple projects in the works. Personally, for some strange reason, I have a hard time staying on one projects until it is finished. I quickly lose interest and want to move on to something new and at least for the moment, more interesting. I guess, I need a short break from every project I make in order to remain interested in it. I never completely lose interest, I just become more interested in something new.
Right now, I have a four or five year old Christmas stocking to finish. For some reason, I have little to no interest in finishing it. I am going to finish it, just to finish it, but I am not really enjoying it. I have an embroidered fairy to complete. That is actually something that I want to complete and will enjoy working on. I have a few English Paper Piecing project to complete. One is a monthly EPP block and I am a little behind, but I want to work on that too. I have 2 modern quilts to work on, one for my daughter and one for my son. I was able to complete my oldest's son Angry Birds quilt and I really enjoyed that, knowing that he was going to love it. Then there is also the Halloween costumes that I have to work on. I have a yellow angry bird to make, some princess, and a robot. I am thinking about adding yet another project, a quilt for my bed. Then there is always the potential to make a baby quilt for my niece's baby who will be born in December.
I know that there are other projects to work on, but right now I can't think of them. I wish I had more time to spend actually working on projects. I can't decide if I would ever like to sell my work, but I think I would love to have a studio and have people come create with me. I would love to be able to have open studio time and create with others and make money doing that. Then there are those times that I think I would love to teach others about traditional hand crafts. I sometimes think that it would be fun to teach a class and work on a project while I am teaching. I have the opportunity to teach a class at a local studio, I am just not sure if I know enough to actually teach a class. I think I could probably teach a basic knitting and quilting class. I could even teach an EPP class, which I know I would like but I'm not sure if anyone else is interested. I could teach a jewelry class and rubber stamping classes, but fear gets in the way.
One day, I'll get enough confidence to actually teach a class. Until then, I'll just enjoy working on my own projects!

Teaching
I think I may have mentioned that a Facebook friend is opening a studio/art gallery. This is something that I have dreamed of doing myself. Unfortunately, someone else beat me to it. Fortunately, it is someone I know and a friend. The nice thing is, she has asked me to teach a class. She has also offered for me to take a class of hers for free. I am hoping to go to her floating lantern class next Friday and see how she runs a class.
I am considering teaching a quilting class. I have made a few small quilts and one large one that fit my full size bed. I feel like I have enough knowledge to teach the class, but maybe not enough confidence to actually teach someone how to quilt. My friend Liz sent me to the quilt pattern she used when she gave her class. I am starting a quilt for my kids with the pattern she sent me to. It's from Elizabeth Hartman at http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/2011/03/mod-sampler-redux.html. I let my twins pick out their fabric with some help from me. I figured, I better make the quilt that I am contemplating teaching. We chose the following fabric for the two quilts:
I am also looking at some other types of quilts to teach. I love the cathedral windows, but it may be a little complicated to teach in a class environment, but then again, it may be fine as long as I have the right equipment. It looks so much harder than it is, it just involved folding and ironing. The nice part is that it doesn't necessarily involve machine sewing. You can hand sew or machine sew, which may open it up to more people who may not have a sewing machine. I have also thought about teaching English Paper piecing, another hand sewn quilting project. Then of course there is hand piecing in general, but I haven't perfected that as much (not that I've perfected machine piecing). There is of course traditional machine piecing that I can teach. I am thinking quilting classes may be what I teach, but I need to feel more comfortable teaching it.

I don't have a picture of a cathedral window, but I could make one up very quick and throw a picture on later. These are some of the things that I love to make using both hand sewing/piecing techniques and machine piecing techniques!
Just a few thoughts to get down so that I can contemplate what I feel comfortable teaching. I love to make everything on here, I just need to figure out what I want to do first.

Latest Project
My friend T.J. from http://www.any-given-moment.blogspot.com, asked about my latest projects that I plan to make for my newest niece. She was wondering if I am going to use a pattern or make up my own. I guess the answer to that question is both. I plan on using this basic design here at http://www.modabakeshop.com/2009/09/ribbon-blanket-and-block.html and then moving on to make it my own. I plan to use 4 monkey wrench blocks since my sister is doing a monkey theme. I figured I would go with some traditional and some very basic blocks so that it is simple yet personalized. I am also planning on trying the ribbon block from that same site also. For the burp cloths, I am just planning on adding a personalized strip down the middle and maybe the bottom of some pre-made cloth diapers. I got some like that for my 3 kids and I love them. I am trying to figure out what to do with them now since I no longer need burp cloths and I would rather not use those for dust rags. Actually, after writing this post, I am thinking I am going to pull out my embroidery attachment to my sewing machine and embroider the squares for the ribbon block as well as personalize it with my nieces name Hannah!
So T.J., when I finish my project, I will post pictures. Maybe I'll even post some in progress pictures. I can't wait to find time to actually make these gifts! I am really looking forward to it!

Cancer Support and New Projects!
So, I did it. I made the decision to cut my hair short and I love it! As I posted earlier, I initially started thinking about this because my mom was trying to decide between chemo or no chemo and one of her concerns was losing her hair. I thought that I could make the sacrifice of cutting my hair which I had been growing for about a year and a half, then I thought that maybe that really wasn't that much a a support. the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to cut my hair, not just for my mom but for me. I love my hair short, but for some reason, I thought that I should grow my hair long (I also wanted to save money and time). So in support of my mom and all those who lose their hair to chemo, I chopped off my hair.
Also, in support of Cancer, I started my first prayer shawl. I attempted to say a prayer while I was knitting it, but I found that I couldn't knit and pray at the same time, so I may just have to say a prayer at the end. I am hoping that it comes out nice and that I can give it to my mom for when she has her treatments. Unfortunately, she starts her treatments this week so I know it won't be ready for when she starts, but if I work really hard , hopefully she can have it for later. I am following a pattern, and it's an easy pattern and I know how to follow a pattern, but it seems like it is going to be really small. I may have to look at doing another shawl for my mom and give this one to someone smaller. I also want to start on some chemo caps for my mom and maybe in time for others. I may be able to do prayer hats where I can pray while I knit the hat. I've never heard of prayer hats, but what the heck, if you are praying for someone to get well, can't you pray while making anything for that person. I'm off to look at chemo cap patterns and pick one for my mom. Any suggestions?

Finding Time To Sew
I have way too many sewing projects that I need to work on. I had planned to sew my daughter a doll for her 2nd birthday and my son a carrying case for matchbox cars (he loves his cars). Now, here it is the Thursday before their birthday on Sunday and I haven't done a thing. What else is new? I may try to get some sewing done tonight, or at least get the pattern cut out. We are, again, having another snow storm here in New England. I am so hoping that it just gives us a dusting, but maybe it will force me to get some projects done! If I can get these 2 things made, then I will feel good. I do still need to get out and get a bunch of matchbox cars for my son. I am hoping that they will really like these gifts and I can feel good about giving them something that I made!
Once these projects are done, it's time to move onto the new apron swap. I still have to get out and buy new material. I am thinking maybe tomorrow after we go to EI group, I'll stop at the fabric store. I think I am going to make a half apron. It's kind of funny that I got a half apron for the last swap and I made a full apron, and then this time, I am making a half apron and requested a full apron! I can't wait to go and look at material. I love craft shopping and even though I can't afford to buy more, bot in terms of money and space, I always look forward to having a reason to buy something new! I am also getting together with a friend on Monday and we will be making some tutus for the girls. I can't wait to have another friend to create with. Also she told me that she has been making some mama pads and I can't wait to see them. I have been tempted to make some myself, but I really need to see how it's done. I am such a visual person. I am hoping that once I see hers and see what materials she used, I can start to make my own. Hopefully that will be one more thing that I can cross off my list of things that I buy. I have also been toying with the idea of using cloth for toilet paper. At first, I thought that it was disgusting, but then I realized I use cloth wipes on the babies so why not on me too. I think it will be cleaner, less impact on the environment, and less paper product that I have to buy. Now that I am writing about this, I am thinking that I may work on some more cloths for the kitchen, both wash cloths and towels. I have some towel material that I got as a remnant and I can knit some wash cloths. I really need to be less dependent on paper towels. I really need to bleach the cloth that I now have and it they are still gross, I need to just get rid of them.
